I think it's possible. Dazai-san is probably incredibly valuable to the Foundation because of his intellect and ability--[Like he was in Yokohama.] But... they want him to fall in line. I'm worried that phone incident is only the beginning.
[He slides down the bathroom stall, settling on his heels and wrapping his arms around his knees.]
I'm worried about him. About how he'll end up if we manage to do too well, if no one dies.... if the group seems too unified for the Foundation's taste.
Not at first. But I'm kind of used to people who don't say what they really mean.
[Hi, Vanitas, his entire not!family back home is people with Issues and Dazai is among that number.]
But I figured if you were on Dazai-san's side for real, I wanted to talk to you and see if you had any ideas about how to make things easier without... messing things up.
But that's not what I mean, not quite. I'm talking about ... I don't know, making things entertaining enough for the Foundation that they won't kill us all without resorting to murder.
We can make it a bloody brawl, but nothing close to potentially fatal. I don't want to actually give them more reason to think we should all die, just something emotional and violent.
[That was counterproductive, even if humans in Atsushi's experience could be more monstrous than any horror stories.]
...Tuesday. They'll probably give us another motive on Monday, and if there's a meeting I don't want to interrupt it.
I'll hold back regardless because I don't want to turn into a tiger. But I'm used to pain too, and I can heal. Just don't actually try to stab me through the heart or lungs or something, I can't promise anything about my control if my ability has to kick in to heal that much.
The first step is to assume he will get hurt. He knew the risks when he took the job, Kitten. The best we can do is play by their rules and not give them the inch they are looking for to hurt him with.

[ ignore the we in there ]
There is probably a spy and maybe even a kill-switch in the group.
no subject
[He knows.]
Probably. You seem like the type who'd be loathe to fake concern about someone, which is why I decided to talk to you today.

[ Looking away. ]
Is it that obvious?

He makes this place interesting, so I'd like to keep him around. He knows where I stand.
[ and about the other part... ]
You need to befriend the rest of the group. That way, you know when someone is acting off or maybe they'll trust you to share.

[He makes a face. Dogbreath.]

I can handle Nora.
[ he's actually the easiest for Vanitas to deal with. ]
You could always bring out the tiger.
no subject
[He makes a face at that. Hell no is he bringing out the tiger.
But... it does give him an idea.]
...What if we staged a fight?
no subject
You say that like it needs to be faked. Yeah, we can have a fight.
[ Reaching around to give his belt a tug. ]
no subject
Alright. I'll give you a fight, if you help me put on a show that's violent enough to make the foundation back off.
[Is this a smart idea? Questionable. He bats Vanitas' hand away from his belt.]
The question is when... it's pretty late today and I'm exhausted, but tomorrow, or...?
i thought i submitted this already
Eager, aren't we? We should probably do it on Monday.

[ fighting is romantic or something. ]
I can't make any promises on the emotional part, but bloody I can do. You won't even need to hold back, Kitten. I'm used to pain.
no subject
[Or some sort of food!
...He's never been on a date, sue him.]

[Wait, is he saying he's survived--
Yes.]
no subject
Let's see how Monday goes.
[ for dinner or just deciding to go forward with this plan? its a mystery. he'll start to head towards the door though ]
Anything else?
no subject
[He is not messing up a meeting ok--
But he does seem to have something else to say, from the pensive look on his face.]
... I'll try to keep better control of my reactions from now on. I don't want any harm to come to Dazai-san.
[Which... is not as easy as it might be for some people. Atsushi was an emotional person, perhaps a bit too emotional.]
